SARIKEI: What was discussed during Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s recent hour-long meeting with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim remains under wraps.

Asked by reporters to shed light on the meeting during a press conference after officiating the ‘Sarawakku Sayang’ (SKS) programme here today (Aug 8), Abang Johari declined to disclose its details.

“I cannot disclose what was discussed. The meeting was quite long, almost one hour. It was between me and the Agong,” he said.

Abang Johari was also asked about the purpose of the meeting, which took place at Istana Pasir Pelangi in Johor Bahru on Aug 5.

He maintained that he could not reveal the matters discussed during the meeting.

The meeting had earlier been reported to have involved Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi; Sarawak Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki; and Johor State Financial Officer, Datuk Mohd Noorazam Osman.

Abang Johari’s meeting with Sultan Ibrahim came amid the Premier’s visit to Johor.

He declined to elaborate further when pressed by reporters, keeping the details of the hour-long discussion private.
