KUCHING: A local man has been arrested for allegedly trespassing into a condominium complex along Jalan Patingan here.
Police received a report from a male complainant at 1.08pm on Monday (Aug 10) claiming that the incident had occurred at around 11.35am the same day.
Acting on information, a team from the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) located and arrested the suspect at around 1.40pm yesterday (Aug 11).
Kuching police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said police also seized several items believed to be linked to the case.
Initial checks found that the suspect had no prior criminal record, while a preliminary urine screening test returned positive for drugs.
The case is being investigated under Section 447 of the Penal Code for criminal trespass, which provides for imprisonment of up to six months, a fine of up to RM3,000, or both, upon conviction.
Alexson advised the public, particularly residential property management, to ensure access doors are properly secured and to prevent unknown individuals from entering restricted areas.
