Ramadhan’s free-kick crowned Liga Malaysia’s best goal
KUCHING: Kuching City FC’s Ramadhan Saifullah earned national recognition after his stunning free-kick against PDRM FC was crowned the ‘Best Goal’ at the Liga M Awards 2025-2026.
Ramadhan’s effort emerged as the fans’ favourite after receiving the highest number of votes among the nominated goals, capping a memorable campaign for the Kuching City player.
The achievement carried added significance as his strike was selected from a total of 747 goals scored throughout the Liga Malaysia 2025-2026 season.
A total of 24,478 votes were cast by supporters for the ‘Best Goal’ category, with Ramadhan’s free-kick ultimately coming out on top.
The award was among several individual honours presented to the standout performers from the domestic season.
Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) midfielder, Afiq Fazail, took the night’s top individual honour after being named ‘Most Valuable Player’ (MVP), while also receiving the ‘Best Midfielder’ award.
His JDT teammate, Bergson, was another double winner, taking home the ‘Golden Boot’ and ‘Best Import’ honours.
Selangor FC also featured prominently among the winners, with Quentin Cheng named ‘Best Defender’ while Faisal Halim received the ‘Best Striker’ award.
Syihan Hazmi took the ‘Best Goalkeeper’ honour, while Safawi Rasid was named the ‘Best Local Goalscorer’.
Penang FC’s Haziq Kutty Abba received the ‘Best Young Player’ award, while JDT head coach, Xisco Muñoz, was recognised as ‘Best Coach’.
The awards brought the curtain down on the individual achievements of the 2025-2026 domestic campaign, with Ramadhan ensuring Kuching City were represented among the season’s leading performers.
