KANOWIT: Three people were injured in a two-vehicle collision before Ngungun Bridge along Jalan Kanowit-Song here this morning.
Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (BOMBA) received an alert regarding a collision between a compact SUV and a sedan at 7:20 am.
Firefighters from Kanowit fire station were mobilised and arrived at the scene at 7:54 am, about 36 kilometres from the station.

“The driver of the SUV, a 29-year-old woman, sustained injuries to her back and was extricated by members of the public before firefighters arrived.
“Meanwhile, the 43-year-old male driver of the sedan sustained an injury to his left leg and was extricated by firefighters.
“A 46-year-old female passenger in the front seat of the sedan sustained facial injuries and was also extricated by members of the public before the arrival of the rescue team,” it said.
All three victims received initial treatment from medical personnel at the scene before being transported to hospital by ambulances for further treatment.
Firefighters also carried out cleaning operations at the accident site, and the situation was brought under control at 8:30 am, while the operations ended at 8:53 am after the team ensured the area was safe.
