KUCHING: TRA Holiday Penang is offering travel packages including homestays, cooking activities, fishing and traditional massages at MATTA Fair Sarawak 2026.

Its representative Fauziah Che Ani said the agency, which is based in Penang, operates as a one-stop centre providing outbound and inbound ticketing, tour operations, bus services, van rentals and Umrah packages.

“For MATTA Fair, we are offering packages to destinations throughout Malaysia. Currently, we are focusing on the northern side of Malaysia, including Penang-Perak, Penang-Kedah, Penang-Perlis and Penang-Langkawi,” she said.

Fauziah said the agency also offered homestay experiences in Penang with a kampung-style concept.

“Some are located near paddy fields or the sea, and for those who want to experience traditional kampung food, we also offer that,” she said.

She said this was the agency’s first time participating in MATTA Fair.

“So far this morning, many people have visited our booth, and some have already taken the packages we are offering. For example, earlier, someone purchased a Penang-Perak package.

“At the moment, customers seem to be more interested in our homestay and Langkawi packages,” she said.

Fauziah said the agency’s packages included transportation and drivers to provide customers with a more relaxing experience.

“Nowadays, many customers can arrange their own trips, so travel agencies need to offer something better than what customers can do themselves,” she said.

She said the packages also included guides, allowing customers to explore more heritage sites.

Fauziah said the packages also offered activities such as fishing and massage, particularly for those seeking a relaxing experience.

“For our homestay packages, we bring them to the market and teach them how to cook Penang dishes, such as nasi lemak, and how to make the best sambal,” she said.

She said she hoped customers would experience Penang’s heritage, kampung atmosphere, paddy fields, sea and nature.
