SIBU: Kelab Rakan Muda Lanang (KERAMUL) has officially begun its journey to provide a structured platform for youth development and community participation in Lanang and the Sibu Division.
The milestone was marked by the presentation of the club’s Registration Certificate to its secretary, Chew Jia Bao, by Sibu Division Youth and Sports Officer Nur Fatheen Khairuzan Seleman at the latter’s office here on Wednesday evening (Aug 26).
The presentation was witnessed by Daniel Iing Shi Ngie, who also serves as the club’s adviser and has played an instrumental role in providing guidance, support and assistance throughout the establishment of KERAMUL.
The newly established club, according to Iing, aims to bring young people together in a positive environment to foster deep friendships, discover their potential and take part in healthy, meaningful and constructive activities.
He pointed out that KERAMUL is open to youths aged 15 to 30, providing them with opportunities to develop their talents, strengthen their confidence and acquire new skills while contributing to the wider community.
He also stressed that a key focus of the club is to encourage participation in the 10 Rakan Muda Lifestyle Styles— allowing members to explore activities that match their individual interests, talents and abilities.
“Through programmes spanning areas such as sports, creativity, volunteerism, skills development, entrepreneurship and community engagement, the club hopes to nurture a generation of young people who are more active, capable and socially responsible,” he said.
The establishment of KERAMUL also reflects the importance of creating more avenues for young people to channel their energy and ideas into productive activities, while building stronger connections among youths in Sibu.
“Young people aged 15 to 30 who are interested in joining the club are encouraged to become part of the KERAMUL family and take the opportunity to learn, connect and contribute through its various activities,” Iing added.
