BINTULU: The Sumbangan Keperluan Asas Sarawak (SKAS) initiative plays an important role in helping ease the financial burden of Sarawakians, particularly those in the lower-income group.
Samalaju assemblyman Datuk Majang Renggi said the assistance benefits those earning RM5,000 and below, as well as other eligible groups.
He said SKAS covers eligible households, single individuals and senior citizens.
“This programme is very important, particularly for those in the lower-income group, as it helps ease the financial burden of the people.
“I believe all those who are eligible have been included in this programme,” he said.
He was speaking to the media after attending the launch of SKAS for the Samalaju constituency at Econsave Kidurong here on Tuesday (Sept 1) as reported by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS).
Majang also expressed his appreciation to the Sarawak government for implementing the initiative, which he described as beneficial to the people.
He said the implementation of SKAS reflected the state government’s commitment to ensuring that the welfare and needs of Sarawakians continue to be given attention.
