SIBU: A motorcyclist was killed while five passengers in a Toyota Hilux suffered trauma following a collision at the P-Turn Stapang area on Friday evening (Sept 4).

The Selangau District Operations Control Centre (PKOD) received an emergency call from a member of the public at 6.33 pm, prompting the Selangau Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) to dispatch a team to the scene.

Upon arrival, the APM personnel found that police and a medical team from the Sekuau Health Clinic were already at the location.

“Initial examination using the Rapid Body Survey technique found that five passengers in the Toyota Hilux had suffered trauma, while the motorcyclist was found unconscious,” Selangau APM said in a statement issued on Friday night.

The motorcyclist was subsequently pronounced dead by the medical team from the Sekuau Health Clinic.

APM personnel also assisted police in recovering the victim’s body before it was placed in a police vehicle and taken to Sibu Hospital for further action.
