PADAWAN: A 67-year-old man was killed after he allegedly lost control of his motorcycle and crashed along Jalan Haji Baki early this morning.

The victim, identified as Phighur Hardy Anton from Kampung Semeba, was riding his Modenas Kriss from Jalan Haji Baki towards Jalan Kampung Semeba when the crash occurred at around 6am.

Initial investigations found that the victim lost control of his motorcycle before veering off the road and crashing to the left.

Padawan police chief Supt Barry William said Phighur suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at 6.55am by a medical assistant.

His body was taken to the hospital for further action.

Further checks also showed that the victim’s driving licence had expired, while the motorcycle had neither valid insurance coverage nor road tax.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
