Abang Johari to meet ADB leadership in Manila

MANILA: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is scheduled to meet the Asian Development Bank (ADB) president and board of directors during his official visit to the multilateral development finance institution here.

The private meetings are scheduled for tomorrow (Sept 8) at the ADB headquarters in Mandaluyong City, Manila, as part of Abang Johari’s working visit.

His programme will also include a fireside chat session with the ADB.

Abang Johari arrived in Manila on today (Sept 7), leading a Sarawak delegation comprising senior state government officials as well as representatives from several strategic state agencies and entities including the Development Bank of Sarawak (DBOS), Sarawak Energy Berhad and Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS).

Upon arrival, Abang Zohari attended a high tea reception with the delegation followed by a dinner and briefing session in the evening.

Among those accompanying him are Deputy Minister for Utility (Sarawak Energy and PETROS) Datuk Ibrahim Baki and Sarawak Energy Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Sharbini Suhaili.

Also part of the delegation are State Financial Secretary Datuk Seri Dr Wan Lizozman Wan Omar, Economic Planning Unit Director Ir Ts Datu Awang Fardillah Awang Redzuan and Development Bank of Sarawak (DBOS) Chief Executive Officer Datuk Laura Lee Ngion Hion, along with several other dignitaries.

For the record, the ADB is a multilateral development finance institution that supports economic and social development in the Asia-Pacific region through financing, technical assistance and advisory services.
