KUCHING: The Sarawak Scout Contingent added another proud achievement to its memorable journey at the 15th Malaysian Scout International Jamboree 2026, clinching second place in the Traditional Contemporary Dance Competition.
The Sarawak team, represented by Scouts from St Joseph’s Private Secondary School, competed against strong contingents from approximately 14 states across Malaysia, each showcasing the unique culture and heritage of their respective states.
Despite facing teams with extensive preparation, coaching and impressive stage presentations, the Sarawak Scouts proved that determination, discipline and teamwork could overcome the odds.
Through countless hours of practice, the young dancers overcame fatigue and challenges to deliver a captivating contemporary cultural performance inspired by Sarawak’s rich and diverse heritage.
Their outstanding performance earned them a well-deserved second place and brought pride to the Sarawak Contingent.
Group Scout Leader Jerome Lim and Janiorioniochie, who guided the team throughout their journey encouraged the scouts to give their best for Sarawak, hence making the achievement as a particularly meaningful moment.
The team also expressed its heartfelt appreciation to Persekutuan Pengakap Malaysia Cawangan Sarawak (PPMCS) for its unwavering support, encouragement and care throughout the Jamboree.
The second-place victory stands as a testament to the spirit of perseverance, unity and dedication demonstrated by the young Sarawak Scouts.
From determination and hard work to a proud moment on stage, the Sarawak Contingent has shown that with teamwork and belief, dreams can indeed become reality.
