MIRI: Family members of Dr Ainul Baroah Kamarudin, who was among those killed in the Flying Doctor Service (FDS) helicopter crash in Long Lellang, arrived at Miri Airport at 1.10pm today (Sept 9) to assist with the victim identification process.
Dr Ainul’s father, Kamarudin Salleh, 69, arrived with his wife Rogayah Mohd Noor, 69, and their eldest daughter Ainul Husna, 40.
The family travelled from Kuala Lumpur, departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 2 this morning.
Meanwhile, authorities are continuing to attend to matters involving the victims, including the identification process and further investigation into the incident.
Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah is expected to hold a press conference at 4.30pm today at Miri Airport.
The BO-105 helicopter, which was operating the FDS, was reported to have crashed near the Long Lellang Short Take-Off and Landing (STOLport) in Ulu Baram on Tuesday afternoon.
The aircraft was carrying five people, including a pilot and four personnel from the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH).
