A FATHER’S greatest gift is not perfection, but a love that remains steadfast through every misunderstanding, disappointment and distance.
Fatherhood is often measured not by grand achievements, but by quiet sacrifices made every day. Across many families, fathers devote themselves to raising, protecting, and supporting their children, often without recognition or reward.
Yet as children grow older and begin navigating their own identities, misunderstandings and societal pressures can sometimes create emotional distance, even when love remains unchanged.
In conjunction with Father’s Day, this story shines a light on the enduring bond between a parent and child, and the extraordinary strength found in unconditional love.
In ‘Love Endures’, Jiang Shun, portrayed by Kai Chi Liu, is a kind-hearted man with a child-like IQ who runs a coffee shop with his younger brother, Lek.
His life changes forever when he discovers an abandoned baby and decides to raise her as his own. The child, Chung-ming, becomes the centre of his world, filling his days with purpose, colour and love.
As Chung-ming grows into adulthood, she begins facing the challenges of the outside world. When her boyfriend’s mother rejects her because of her family background, feelings of embarrassment and insecurity begin to take root. Gradually, she starts blaming Shun for the circumstances of her life.
The emotional strain eventually leads Chung-ming to run away from home, leaving Shun heart-broken. Despite the pain, his love for his daughter never wavers as he embarks on a journey to find her and restore the bond they once shared.
‘Love Endures’, a heart-felt Father’s Day special, celebrates unconditional parental love, emotional sacrifice, and the enduring connection between parent and child.
The film reminds audiences that true fatherhood is not defined by intelligence, status, or social expectations, but by unwavering commitment, compassion, and the willingness to love without conditions.
Shun’s journey reflects a universal truth: parents often continue loving their children even when that love is misunderstood or taken for granted.
As children grow and seek acceptance from the world around them, family relationships can become strained by expectations, insecurities and differing perspectives.
Through Shun’s character, the film beautifully illustrates that fatherhood is defined not by perfection, but by presence, sacrifice and a heart that never stops caring.
This Father’s Day, honour the fathers who love quietly, sacrifice selflessly, and never stop believing in their children.
