KUCHING: CelcomDigi has launched ‘Nadi’, a distinctive music initiative that celebrates the deep connection between humans and nature.
Directed by the esteemed Kelabit filmmaker, Sarah Lois Doral, ‘Nadi’ explores the symbiotic relationship between humanity and the environment through a captivating instrumental composition.
In a statement, the film features three East Malaysian musicians: Sape virtuoso Alena Murang, pioneering music producer Joshua Maran, and Sundatang revivalist Gindung.
Using sonification technology, they converted the vibrations of paddy plants, sails, flowers, and trees into soundwaves, transmitted in real-time to a recording studio via CelcomDigi’s robust network.
The musicians used both synthesisers and traditional instruments such as the Sape, Sundatang, and Kulintangan to blend these organic sounds into a harmonious piece that encapsulates nature’s essence.
In line with the Kaamatan and Gawai harvest festivals, CelcomDigi hoped that ‘Nadi’ will foster a greater appreciation and conservation of nature for future generations.
CelcomDigi is also offering several promotions in celebration of Pesta Kaamatan and Hari Gawai.
To enhance the festive atmosphere, CelcomDigi is supporting various activities at Imago Mall, Kota Kinabalu, throughout May.
Events include the Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan, ‘Mr. Kaamatan 2024’, ‘Sugandoi’ Competition, and the Nationwide Talent Audition on June 1-2, 2024.
Moreover, CelcomDigi will provide free e-hailing rides between Imago Mall and KDCA on May 30-31, 2024, from 10 am to 8 pm, ensuring easy access for participants and attendees.
