JOHOR BAHRU: The launching of the state-of-the-art Hinotori Robotic Surgical System across both of HMI Medical’s hospital, namely Regency Specialist Hospital, and Mahkota Medical Centre marks a new era of advanced precision surgery that is affordable.

Chin delivers her speech.

HMI Medical group chief executive officer Chin Wei Jia said the assisted surgical system will enhance patient outcome, shorten recovery times, and increases the access of cutting-edge technologies for more patients in Malaysia and across the region.

“Some of the standout features of the assisted surgical system include its eight-axis robotic arm which delivers a leap in surgical precision, enabling our surgeons to navigate the complex anatomy and perform delicate suturing even in confined environment.

“Its enhanced vision offers a full high-definition 3D imaging system that gives our surgeons unprecedented visualisation of tissue detail and outstanding depth perception which enhances both safety and performance in long, complex surgeries,” she said.

She said this in her speech during the launching of the surgical assisted system, officiated by Johor Health and Environment Committee chairman Ling Tian Soon at Regency Specialist Hospital here on Monday (Sept 22).

She said the other feature includes the breakthrough control, which allows for more fluid, uninterrupted instrument movement while mimicking the movements of the surgeon’s hands.

“Importantly, this achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of our group surgical robotic committee, our robotic surgeons, as well as our centre of excellence, operating theatre and nursing teams who have been instrumental in bringing this vision to life.

“We would also like to extend our appreciation to the Sysmex and Medicaroid teams, who played an instrumental role in implementing the state-of-the-art Hinotori Robotic Assisted Surgical System in our hospital,” she added.

In the meantime, Ling said the adoption of the advanced medical technologies such as the Hinotro Robotic-Assisted Surgical System helps to address Johor Bahru’s ongoing issues on the bed occupancy in private hospitals.

“Its precision and minimally invasive approach means less scarring and significantly faster recovery times, and shorter hospital stays.

“This not only improves patient outcomes but also eases the bed capacity pressures, enabling hospitals to serve patients more efficiently.

“And by making such care accessible and affordable, Johor strengthens its position as a favourite healthcare destination not only from Singapore and Indonesia, but also from the Middle East and beyond, where the demand for high-quality yet cost-effective healthcare continues to grow,” he said.
