KUCHING: The National Healthy Malaysia Agenda (ANMS) Roadshow 2026 will be held this Sunday at the Kuching Waterfront, offering health screenings, community activities and fitness programmes for the public.
Organised by the Kuching Divisional Health Office (PKB Kuching), the event will be held in conjunction with the TYT Cup Muaythai Championship 2026 and the Kuching Car Free Sunday programme.
The launch, scheduled from 7 am to 10 am, will be officiated by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, who is also Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government.
The programme marks the third collaboration between PKB Kuching, the Sarawak Muaythai Association and Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Utara (DBKU) in promoting healthy lifestyles within the community.
The ANMS initiative is a national effort aimed at empowering Malaysians to adopt and sustain healthy living practices through a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach.
At the divisional level, the roadshow forms part of strategic efforts to raise public awareness on self-care and the prevention of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
Activities throughout the day, from 6 am to 5 pm, include community aerobics sessions, a symbolic flag-off of the ANMS and Muaythai Heritage Fun Walk, and a women’s self-defence seminar featuring a demonstration by an under-23 world champion.
Other highlights include Tai Chi demonstrations, free health screenings such as NHSI checks, eye examinations, dental services, women’s health screening (HPV/PSP), and physical assessments via the Wellness on Wheels (WoW) truck.
Visitors can also take part in health exhibitions, government service counters, community gotong-royong activities, house-to-house outreach under the MyChampion initiative, Rahmah MADANI sales and lucky draws.
PKB Kuching said the ANMS Kuching Division Roadshow 2026 will be conducted in five series throughout the year at various strategic locations to ensure wider community outreach.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend and participate in activities aimed at building a healthier community.
