KUCHING: A new youth-focused podcast initiative is set to amplify voices in Sarawak following a strategic collaboration between Angkatan Zaman Mansang (AZAM) Sarawak and Ibrandium Resources.
The partnership was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening engagement with youth using innovative, inclusive, and digitally driven communication approaches.
According to AZAM Sarawak Chief Executive Officer, Ali Suhaili, the initiative bridges communication gaps with youth through relatable platform that resonate more effectively today.
“Through platforms like ‘Kelaka Belia’, we engage youth in ways that are closer, relaxed, and relevant to ensure development messages are better understood,” he said.
The collaboration builds on longstanding efforts between both organisations in community programmes, digital initiatives, and youth empowerment through more interactive and impactful outreach strategies.
These efforts include grassroots engagement, content creation, and innovative communication methods, forming a solid foundation for the structured rollout of the ‘Kelaka Belia’ podcast initiative.
‘Kelaka Belia’ will feature discussions on real-life youth issues in Sarawak, presented in a casual yet meaningful format designed to encourage openness and genuine conversations.
Topics include education pathways, career opportunities, mental well-being, and future prospects, reflecting everyday challenges and aspirations faced by young people across the state.
The first three episodes have already been planned, focusing on youth development themes and presented through engaging storytelling to attract a wider young audience.
The podcast is expected to launch this April across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Spotify, and YouTube, ensuring accessibility and broad audience reach.
Meanwhile, Ibrandium founder Afiq Khatem said the initiative represents a fresh and creative direction in engaging youth through digital storytelling and impactful content.
“We believe podcasts can shape youth perspectives significantly, making ‘Kelaka Belia’ not just a platform for dialogue but a source of inspiration,” he said.
He added that youth must be encouraged to express views constructively, fostering discussions that generate ideas and contribute towards a more progressive and sustainable Sarawak.
The initiative aligns with the “Movement for Progress” aspiration, promoting continuous innovation, community development, and active youth participation in shaping a resilient future.
