LIMBANG: The Sarawak Government continues to strengthen rural development through the allocation of significant funds and the implementation of infrastructure and basic amenities projects to improve the well-being of the people, especially in interior areas.

Deputy Minister for Food Industry, Commodities and Regional Development, Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail, said that areas under the Bukit Kota constituency were among the first to receive development spillover and continue to be given ongoing attention.

According to him, various projects have been implemented, including proposals to upgrade the pedestrian walkway from Jalan Buangsiol to Jalan Tujuh Batu Keliling and up to Jalan Pandaruan to enhance the safety and comfort of residents.

“Alhamdulillah, many areas in DUN Bukit Kota have received various forms of development, and we will continue to assess the current needs of the people from time to time,” he said at the Kampung Bukit Limpaki Aidilfitri gathering here recently.

The Bukit Kota assemblyman also informed that the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has allocated significant funds for development in every DUN through the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) amounting to RM5 million and the Minor Rural Project (MRP) totaling RM2 million.

In addition, an annual allocation of RM1 million is also provided for housing repair projects, particularly to help those in need enjoy more comfortable and safer homes.

Meanwhile, he said there are still several villages in Limbang without road access, including Kampung Bulantak, Kampung Limpaku Pinang, Kampung Merambut and Kampung Merajang.

He noted that RM200 million has been approved under the federal allocation for the construction of roads to Kampung Bulantak and Kampung Limpaku Pinang to improve connectivity in these areas.

At the same time, the needs of the local community are also given attention, including the approval of an allocation of RM3,000 for the construction of an Arabian canopy in Kampung Limpaki.
