BETONG: The Batang Saribas 2 Bridge project has reached 80.50 per cent completion and is expected to open to traffic in November this year.
In a Facebook statement, the Sarawak Public Works Department (PWD) said Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas conducted a working visit to the project site on Tuesday to review the progress of implementation.
Uggah stressed the importance of continuous monitoring to ensure the project can be completed within the targeted timeline.
“During the visit, the Deputy Premier was briefed by the project implementing team on the current status of works, challenges at the site and the remaining scope leading up to completion,” the department said.
The Batang Saribas 2 Bridge is expected to improve connectivity, reduce travel time and support socio-economic activities for the surrounding communities.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Port Development, through Sarawak PWD said it remained committed to ensuring the project was delivered efficiently and with quality in line with the state’s development agenda.
