BINTULU: The upcoming Bintulu Museum, currently in the planning stages, is expected to become a new landmark for the town and showcase the historical and cultural identity of the local community.
Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) secretary Wan Ibrahim Wan Ali said the museum aims not only to preserve history but also to serve as a platform to celebrate Bintulu’s heritage and inspire pride among future generations.
“This isn’t just about displaying artifacts — it’s about telling the stories behind the history that belongs to our community,” he said during the Bintulu Museum briefing held at Promenade Hotel recently.
He added that the project will move forward through strong collaboration between BDA, the corporate sector, and private stakeholders to ensure it becomes a lasting legacy for the community.
“While BDA will take the lead in coordinating and initiating the project, its success will depend on support from corporate partners. With this collaboration, the museum will be more than just another development project,” he said.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026 and is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2029.
