MIRI: The State Library branch here will hold its third-quarter blood donation drive on Saturday (August 15).
The campaign from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm will be held at the lobby of the library premises in collaboration with the Miri Hospital Blood Bank and Malaysian Red Crescent Society’s Miri branch.
“The blood donation drive reflects the State Library’s commitment to supporting community well-being by providing an accessible platform for the public to contribute to the country’s blood supply needs,” it said in a statement.
It said the initiative also aimed to promote healthy lifestyles and foster volunteerism in the community.
The first 80 people who successfully donate blood will each receive a 5kg bag of Ratu Huma rice as a token of appreciation.
Its next blood donation drive is scheduled for Sept 23 in conjunction with the Sarawak Literature Festival at its premises.
