KUCHING: Residents of Kuching are being called upon to roll up their sleeves this coming Sunday as a community blood donation campaign comes to Emart King Centre on May 17.
Dubbed ‘Give Blood Save Life’, the drive will run from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and is organised in response to ongoing blood shortages at the Blood Bank of Sarawak General Hospital.
The initiative brings together Pertubuhan Pembangunan Insan Sarawak (PPIS) and the Malaysian Red Crescent Stampin Branch in a joint effort to bolster the hospital’s blood supply.
Organisers stressed that blood donation – a straightforward and safe procedure – can mean the difference between life and death for patients who depend on timely transfusions for treatment, emergency care, and critical medical procedures.
Each unit of blood donated plays a crucial role in sustaining the hospital’s capacity to deliver timely and effective care to those in need.
As a token of appreciation, all donors will receive a complimentary goodie bag.
Members of the public who meet donor eligibility criteria are encouraged to come forward and be part of this life-saving effort.
