SIBU: In conjunction with the festive season, Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee will distribute 1,000 packs of 1kg free mince pork to senior citizens in the Pelawan constituency to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year (CNY).
Tiang, who is also Pelawan Assemblyman said this CNY initiative is carried out in collaboration with Borneo Fresh Pork Sdn Bhd.
“The distribution is especially for Pelawan voters aged 60 and above, aimed at easing their household burden and allowing them to feel the joy of festive season.
“Voucher collection will be opened starting today (Feb 5), from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm. Eligible recipients may bring their MyKad to the Michael Tiang Service Centre at No. 20, Lorong 2F, Sungai Merah to collect the voucher, or contact 012-760 9822 for enquiries. Vouchers will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while stocks last,” he said in a statement yesterday (Feb 4).
Tiang added that, each eligible person is entitled to only one voucher for 1kg of minced pork, and each representative is allowed to collect up to two vouchers on behalf of others.
The redemption of mince pork will take place on Saturday (Feb 7), from 7.30 am to 10 am at Borneo Fresh Pork Sdn Bhd, Rejang Park. Recipients must present the voucher during the specified time to redeem the goodies.
Tiang expressed his appreciation to Borneo Fresh Pork Sdn Bhd for their sponsorship and cooperation.
He noted that the company has demonstrated strong corporate social responsibility, allowing senior citizens in Pelawan to benefit from this meaningful initiative.
