KUCHING: The Kuching Autistic Association (KAA) received a RM10,000 donation during the SABATI Cup 2026 tournament last night (Sept 7).
The annual event brought together international bowlers for a night of sportsmanship, fundraising, and community outreach.
Amateur Bowling (Tenpin) Association of Sarawak (ABAS) president Sunny Si Poh Heng commended KAA’s dedicated work, calling it a deeply worthy cause and emphasising the importance of using sporting events to give back to the community.
“In conjunction with the SABATI Cup, ABAS and Megalanes wanted to make a small donation to charity, and KAA is truly deserving of our support,” Si said during his speech at the prize presentation ceremony at Megalanes, Emart Batu Kawa.
“I also want to welcome all the international bowlers participating in this tournament for a good cause.”
KAA president Charles Siaw accepted the donation on behalf of the association, presented by Si.
A total of 48 teams from various countries took part in the charity tournament.
