KUCHING: A total of 700 packs of ‘bubur lambuk’ were distributed to the public within just 30 minutes at the annual Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Bubur Lambuk Distribution programme here.
The programme held at the MBKS Ramadan Bazaar at Stutong Market was an initiative by the local council in conjunction with the fasting month.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, accompanied by MBKS Mayor, Datuk Wee Hong Seng, personally handed out the traditional porridge to visitors at the bazaar before continuing his walkabout to support local vendors by purchasing local delicacies.
The programme, aimed at fostering community spirit and celebrating the holy month, has been a staple event under MBKS, drawing strong public participation every year.
This year, the bazaar made its return with over 160 stalls offering a diverse selection of food and drinks from various cultures, providing the community with a wide range of choices.
