KUCHING: It is hoped that more facilities for children with special needs will be built soon.

Secretary of Kuching Autistic Association (KAA), Duane Reggie Tersan said this is his hope and expectation for the upcoming re-tabling of Budget 2023.

“If you see in Sarawak alone, we are still lacking facilities and training centres for special needs children,” he said.

He said this during a press conference for the upcoming Bunny Run for Autism 2023 here yesterday (Feb 17).

Duane also stated the KAA training centre could not cope with a large number of autistic children as the centre is truly small.

“That is why we want to build the new training centre besides our main building so that we can accommodate and accept more intake of these children,” he said.

Earlier, it was announced that re-tabling of Budget 2023 will be presented next Friday.

Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will be presenting the budget.

Budget 2023 will take into account the current economic challenges, while at the same time driving the country’s growth and attracting investments.
