KUCHING: The Magistrate’s Court here ordered a secondary school student to serve a two-year good behaviour bond for bullying a teenage girl by making criminal threats to stab the victim 300 times and threatening to have others rape the victim.
Magistrate Mason Jaro Lenya Berayan also ordered the 13-year-old boy to report to the Social Welfare Department (JKM) every two months.
The young offender and his parents were also ordered to attend an interactive programme throughout the bond period.
Aside from that, his parents were also ordered to accompany him to report to JKM or the nearest police station in accordance to Section 93(1)(a) of the Child Act 2021.
All orders were made by the court after hearing the boy’s moral report from JKM today.
Previously on October 30 last year, the teenager pleaded guilty under Section 506 of the Penal Code, for intentionally uttering criminal threats to stab the 13-year-old victim 300 times and threatening to have others rape her.
Both offences were committed in a classroom at a secondary school in Padawan at around 2.20 pm on October 21 last year.
Based on case facts, the boy and another friend had disturbed the complainant while she was studying, which caused her to feel uncomfortable and emotionally disturbed as she could not stand the continuous harassment.
Later, the girl filed a police report for referral and disciplinary action by the school against the perpetrators.
Acting on the report, a special team was formed to investigate the case, led by investigating officer ASP Sylvarius Gopog together with Sgt Ridvaner Haddi and several other members, before arresting the teenager.
Investigations found that the boy made criminal threats by threatening to stab the victim 300 times, as in the case that occurred at a school in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, and threatened to have others rape her.
In the same incident, the boy’s friend threw a correction tape object at the victim, causing bruises. Due to the threats, the girl became afraid and was traumatised to go to school.
When the incident occurred, there were witnesses present at the scene.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Muhammad Aidil Akmal Sharidan prosecuted the case, while the boy appeared with his parents without legal representation.
