KUCHING: The Malaysian Productivity Corporation (MPC) Sarawak is spearheading a two-day Bureaucracy Reform (RKB) Workshop aimed at driving strategic improvements in public service delivery across the state.

The RKB initiative represents a proactive government effort to identify and resolve bureaucratic bottlenecks that often obstruct the efficient provision of public services.

This workshop serves not only as a platform to analyse existing challenges but also as a catalyst for inter-agency collaboration and stakeholder engagement.

Participants are given the opportunity to map out key issues within their organisations, assess current performance levels, and identify critical gaps in effectiveness and efficiency.

The hands-on approach enables stakeholders to explore targeted solutions with measurable impact.

Since January 2024, a total of 79 RKB projects have been successfully implemented nationwide, demonstrating strong commitment towards enhancing public service mechanisms.

These projects have brought tangible improvements to licensing, procurement, permit management and internal agency procedures, showcasing the strength of collaborative efforts between government entities and industry players.

MPC deputy director general Dr Mohamad Norjayadi Tamam said that the initiative was vital in cultivating a culture of continuous improvement within the public sector.

“MPC is committed to driving systemic change through data-driven strategies and inclusive stakeholder involvement. Through the RKB initiative, we go beyond identifying service delivery issues, we design actionable, timely and outcome-oriented solutions that benefit both the public and the industry,” he said.

Dr Norjayadi further emphasised MPC’s dual role in facilitating reform and acting as a catalyst for structural and mindset shifts in public sector operations.

“As the lead agency in promoting national productivity, MPC is determined to embed long-term improvement practices across both public and private sectors,” he said.

MPC expressed confidence that the workshop’s outcomes would yield practical and implementable recommendations to boost efficiency. The RKB initiative remains a key strategic platform in streamlining outdated procedures and advancing service excellence.

With continued support and active participation from all stakeholders, MPC aims to ensure that proposed reforms go beyond theory, delivering real positive change on the ground.
