MIRI: A Proton Persona vehicle was completely destroyed in a fire along Jalan Emart Tudan here this afternoon, but no injuries were reported.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received an emergency call at 3.49 pm and dispatched a fire engine from the Lutong Fire and Rescue Station to the scene.

The fire engine left the station at 3.50 pm and arrived eight minutes later.
Upon arrival, the operations commander confirmed that the Proton Persona was already engulfed in flames. The fire was estimated to have destroyed the vehicle entirely.
Firefighters immediately carried out a size-up before deploying a 100-foot hose line using water supplied from the fire engine to contain and extinguish the blaze.
The fire was brought under control at 4.04 pm and the operation concluded at 4.33 pm after firefighters ensured the scene was safe. The team returned to the station at 4.42 pm.
A total of six firefighters and one Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) were involved in the operation. Two police personnel from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) were also at the scene to assist.
The incident occurred about 8km from the Lutong Fire and Rescue Station.
No casualties were reported and the identity of the vehicle owner has yet to be confirmed. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
