SARATOK: A 42-year-old man was killed early today after the vehicle he was driving in, skidded and crashed along the Saratok-Sri Aman Pan Borneo Highway.
The victim, identified as Freddie Isa, was found inside the Perodua Bezza following the crash.
Firefighters from Saratok station were dispatched to the scene, about 6km away, following a distress call at 7.02 am.
Upon arrival, the team worked to stabilise the car with rescue equipment and ropes before removing the victim.
Firefighters fitted a cervical collar on the victim before extricating him from the vehicle using a stretcher.
Unfortunately, a medical officer confirmed that he had died at the scene.
His body was later handed over to police for further action.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team concluded the operation at 7.50 am.
