KUCHING: National Professors Council (MPN) president Emeritus Professor Datuk Dr Raduan Che Rose has welcomed the withdrawal of all charges against him, calling it a relief after what he described as a damaging and unnecessary ordeal.

He also expressed gratitude to the Attorney General and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for reviewing his representation thoroughly before deciding to drop the case.

“This decision affirms that due process of law has been carried out with diligence and fairness,” he said in a statement today.

He added that his legal team, AM Zaharil & Co, had played a key role in presenting arguments that clarified the facts and proved the charges were unfounded.

Raduan maintained that the allegations against him were irrational and lodged prematurely, noting that a forensic report completed two months later confirmed no evidence of misappropriation.

He noted that several senior law professors and legal practitioners had also agreed the case did not fall under Section 409 of the Penal Code but instead concerned managerial decisions that should not have been criminalised.

While welcoming the withdrawal, Raduan said the charges had damaged his credibility and called on those responsible to correct the matter and issue a public apology.

At the same time, he expressed gratitude for the support he received from his family, the MPN board, academics, and members of the public throughout the ordeal.

“I remain fully committed to serving the nation through MPN and other platforms to strengthen governance, integrity and credibility within our justice system. Above all, the truth has finally prevailed,” he said.
