SIBU: A total of RM20,000 is targeted to be collected through the Parish Sale 2026 charity event organised by St John’s Church, which will take place on April 25.
The event is scheduled to be held at the church compound in Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg, starting from 9am to 3pm, with various activities and attractive sales awaiting visitors.
Organising committee chairman Michael Blayong said that one of the main focuses of this event is to raise funds to support various church needs, including facility maintenance work and the implementation of welfare and religious programmes.
According to him, the proceeds will also be used to make community activities and celebrations such as Easter a success.
“Various attractions will be provided including the sale of local food, fruits and vegetables, as well as side activities such as children’s games, sports and karaoke sessions,” he told the media here on Thursday (April 9).
Michael also invited the public regardless of background to come and enliven the event while contributing to the welfare efforts being carried out.
Meanwhile, all transactions throughout the event will use a coupon system without involving cash.
Coupon sets are sold at RM20 and can be purchased at the church, including every Sunday after mass, which starts at 9.15am.
