SPAOH: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas has called for stronger coordination among implementing agencies to ensure that development efforts in the constituency and the wider Betong Division continue to reach the ground effectively.

Uggah, who is also Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development and the Bukit Saban assemblyman, said cooperation between agencies and community organisations was vital to maintain delivery momentum in both infrastructure projects and grassroots initiatives.

During a briefing at the Spaoh Sub District Office on Saturday, he received updates from the Betong Division Department of Irrigation and Drainage and the Betong District Council on current and upcoming works.

He stressed that timely completion and close monitoring were essential in ensuring projects serve the people as intended.

The Deputy Premier later observed a badminton training programme at the Spaoh Sports Complex involving schoolchildren from surrounding areas, organised by the Bukit Saban Branch’s Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) women’s wing with coaching support from Ant Badminton Academy.

He also met with local leaders during the PBB women’s wing branch meeting at the Bukit Saban Service Centre, stressing the importance of community engagement in complementing government initiatives.

Concluding his visit, Uggah attended a wedding ceremony at Kampung Melayu Spaoh, a gesture that reflected his longstanding ties and support for the local community.
