SRI AMAN: Stronger cooperation among government agencies, community leaders and local representatives is being pursued to help people without identity documents gain access to essential government services and resolve their documentation issues.
Bukit Begunan assemblyman Datuk Mong Dagang said close coordination with relevant agencies, the Association of Community Leaders and Community Heads (KMKK) and local leaders was crucial, particularly in addressing cases in the constituency.
“Close cooperation between government agencies, KMKK and local leaders is very important in resolving this issue, as the people need guidance to obtain identity documents through the proper channels.
“With identity documents, they will gain access to various government facilities, subsequently creating a foundation for social wellbeing and community development in their settlements,” he said.
He said this at the Leaders with People programme held in conjunction with the presentation of identity documents to 12 recipients, organised by the Bukit Begunan KMKK Association at Rumah Ramping, Klauh Dau, here, on Thursday.
Mong also urged those involved in identity document applications to cooperate fully with government agencies and local leaders to facilitate and expedite the process.
He said failure to do so could leave them facing difficulties in accessing welfare assistance, education and employment opportunities.
“Therefore, I hope those who still do not have identity documents will come forward immediately to seek advice from the KMKK and relevant agencies so that the issue can be resolved more quickly and effectively,” he said.
At the event, Mong also announced RM150,000 under the Bukit Begunan Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) to upgrade infrastructure at Rumah Unggi, Klauh Tinting.
He also announced RM15,000 under the Minor Rural Projects (MRP) for the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Rumah Ramping, Klauh Dau, as well as RM5,000 for the organisation’s women’s bureau.
