KUCHING: The Special Financial Assistance (BKK) amounting to two months’ basic salary for Sarawak state civil servants reflects the government’s strong appreciation of their contributions.
Cuepacs Gred Sarawak vice president and Sarawak Bumiputera Teachers Union (KGBS) president Zulkiflee Sebli said civil servants play a crucial role in in driving the state’s development and prosperity.
“Therefore, I call on all civil servants in Sarawak to continue providing the best service possible in achieving the goal of making Sarawak a developed state by 2030.
“State and federal civil servants must work hand in hand in executing their duties and responsibilities towards the state and the nation,” he said in a statement today.
He also thanked Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for the largest BKK allocation ever to state civil servants, which also includes a one-off RM700 for federal civil servants serving in Sarawak.
Zulkiflee added that Cuepacs Gred Sarawak and the KGBS will continue to support the current government and ensure that civil servants perform their duties to the best of their ability.
The Premier made the announcement on Wednesday (Nov 20), describing the BKK as a token of appreciation for the dedication and contributions of Sarawak’s civil service.
