BINTULU: The film ‘Dear You’ is more than just entertainment as it highlights the values of humanity, love and sacrifice of earlier generations, offering inspiration and meaningful lessons to society.

Tanjung Batu assemblyman, Johnny Pang Leong Ming, said the film delivers a profound message on the importance of practising compassion, sincerity and humanity in daily life, while reminding audiences of the sacrifices made by ancestors who migrated to Southeast Asia in search of a better future.

“Although ‘Dear You’ is an entertainment production, its storyline is filled with messages that can deeply touch the emotions of viewers.

“Viewers may need to prepare tissues because the story is very moving,” he said after attending the ‘Watch a Movie with YB: Dear You’ programme at GSC The Spring Bintulu on Thursday (June 25).

He said one of the most impactful lessons from the film was the reminder to uphold the values of love and humanity, as well as to appreciate the sacrifices made by previous generations.

Pang said films that feature themes of family, history and humanity can help raise public awareness of the contributions and struggles of earlier generations while instilling positive values among audiences.

He also expressed hope that more local films centred on education, history and humanitarian themes would be produced in the future to create a positive impact on society and strengthen appreciation for heritage and the values of life.
