Debak Fest 2017 to offer more activities

DEBAK: The Third Series of Debak Fest 2017 to be held on 4 until 7 May is expected to be grander with more activities.

Saribas State Assemblyman Mohd. Razi Sitam said, the event that entered into its third series with improvements will not disappoint visitors.

“This is one of the ongoing efforts to encourage entrepreneurial activity and improve the tourism aspect to ensure Debak and Saribas are known by the outside community.

“Thus, with various programmes and activities throughout the event, we believe will receive better response and the bigger presence of visitors,” he said.

Razi was speaking while chairing a meeting on the 3rd Series of Debak Fest 2017 which took place at the Debak District Office yesterday.

According to him, the organising concept is having cooperation with Cooperative Entrepreneur Sdn. Bhd. whereby the cooperative will jointly bear the costs of organising including aspects of management.

The entrepreneur’s carnival is aimed to be a platform to encourage people in taking the opportunity to increase revenue through the programme.

Razi hoped the appointed various working committees, government departments, community leaders and Debak residents are ready to give full cooperation to ensure the success of the programme that has become an icon for Debak.

Thus the 3rd Series of Debak Fest 2017 promises a variety of activities during the four days. These will include sales activities and exhibitions, stage performances, DJ Corner, Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) Raya programme shooting, the movie pacak, Debak treasure hunt, busker performance, night a thousand beats, Debak idol, high-powered motorcycle show, Debak Fest concerts with famous artistes, futsal, cooking competition, Debak Kitchen, games and many more exciting activities which are interesting for visitors.

Earlier in the second edition on 2016 the Debak Fest attracted more than 10,000 visitors to the town Debak.

Also present during the meeting were Betong District Assistant District Officer Paimon Fashar; Administrative Officer of Debak Dr. James Luing, Betong’s Temenggong, Haji Piee Alwi, departments’ representatives and Community leaders.
