MIRI: Defects were discovered in two recently completed drainage system projects in Tudan during a site inspection conducted by Senadin assemblyman Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin, who is the Minister for Transport, today.
During the inspection, Lee instructed the contractor responsible for the upgrading project to address and repair the identified issues under the defect liability period (DLP).
According to Lee, both projects have a 12-month defect liability period to ensure proper rectification of any problems.
The inspection covered two drainage upgrades: one at Jalan Melor Tudan, involving a 453-meter-long ditch costing RM439,650.00, and another at Tudan Lorong Melur 1, with a 463-meter-long ditch costing RM367,281.00.
The total length of the upgraded drainage is 916 metres, with a combined cost of RM806,931.00.
Despite the completion of these projects, Lee highlighted the presence of cracks and other imperfections, stressing the need for the contractor to rectify these issues promptly to ensure the projects meet the required standards.
