KUCHING: A Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) project at Sam San Kuet Bong Temple here reflects Sarawak’s commitment to inclusive development and respect for cultural diversity.

Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap, together with officers from the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), conducted a site visit to the temple at the 7th Mile, Kota Sentosa, to inspect the progress of granite tiling works funded under the RTP, with an allocation of RM100,000.

He said the visit aimed to ensure the project was implemented according to the approved scope, specifications and quality standards in line with the Sarawak Government’s emphasis on accountability and effective delivery of public funds.

“Upon completion, the upgraded facilities are expected to provide a safer and more conducive environment for religious activities while also benefitting the surrounding community,” he said in a statement.

Yap noted that the project demonstrated the state government’s inclusive development policies, where assistance was provided fairly to all communities regardless of race or religion.

“This RTP project is not merely about physical upgrades.

“It reflects Sarawak’s long-standing values of inclusiveness, mutual respect and harmony, where places of worship and community facilities are supported as part of our shared social fabric,” he said.

He added that continuous monitoring of RTP projects was crucial to ensure allocations deliver real impact and long-term benefits to the people, reiterating his commitment to working closely with local authorities and community leaders to bring development closer to the people.
