MARUDI: Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, continued his official working visit to the interior of Sarawak with stops at Bario Police Station and the Marudi District Police Headquarters (IPD) on Tuesday (Feb 10).

The visit was aimed at assessing the preparedness of personnel, logistics facilities and the implementation of security operations in remote areas, while ensuring policing services to local communities remain at an optimal level.

It also focused on strengthening border security control and enhancing efforts to curb cross-border crime.

During the visit, Ayob Khan received a briefing from Marudi police chief, DSP Nor Aizan Mohd Jamil, on the current security situation, operational challenges in interior areas and infrastructure improvement needs, including welfare aspects for personnel on duty.

He later visited the ‘Ops Taring Awas’ Post at Long Banga under the Sarawak Brigade of the General Operations Force (GOF) in Ulu Baram, where he was briefed by post commander, ASP Mohd Sani Junid on the latest developments in the area.

Ayob Khan also took time to engage with officers and personnel as a gesture of support and appreciation for their commitment in maintaining public safety and order.

Also present were Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department’s Deputy GOF Director, DCP Datuk Mohamad Suzrin Mohd Rodhi; Sarawak Contingent Internal Security and Public Order Department chief, SAC Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood; and Sarawak GOF Brigade commander, SAC Lim Bak Phai.
