PUSA: The implementation of various infrastructure projects and agricultural development initiatives continues to drive the progress of the Beting Maro area, supported by an allocation of RM205 million under the Betong Division Development Agency (BDDA).

Beting Maro assemblyman Datuk Razaili Gapor said the allocation involves various development projects that directly benefit residents in the area.

“The Sarawak government has also allocated RM5 million for the development of the paddy farming sector in the Muton area as part of efforts to strengthen the agricultural sector and the local community’s economy,” he said in an UKAS report during the Mantar Gawai 2026 ceremony here recently.

Razaili also expressed appreciation to the Sarawak government for the implementation of major infrastructure projects, including the Batang Saribas Bridge and Batang Lupar Bridge, which he described as proof of the state’s economic strength and the government’s commitment to enhancing the people’s wellbeing.

According to him, the ongoing development initiatives will continue to drive Sarawak towards a more advanced and progressive future.

He also conveyed his appreciation to the Iban community and members of the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) in the area for organising the Mantar Gawai Ceremony, which he described as successful in strengthening ties and unity among the multi-racial communities in Beting Maro.

According to him, such programmes not only serve as a platform to foster closer community relations, but also as an important medium for preserving cultural heritage and the spirit of togetherness among the people of Sarawak.
