KUCHING: A 19-year-old man escaped with minor injuries after the car he was driving was involved in an accident at Jalan Seladah, Kampung Tabuan Lalang, late Tuesday night (April 7).

The incident, which occurred near Sarawak Blessed Church, involved a Perodua Kenari.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from the Tabuan Jaya fire station were dispatched to the scene following a distress call at 10.24pm.

Upon arrival, the victim had already exited the vehicle on his own.

He was not trapped and sustained a minor injury to his right hand.

No rescue operation was required.

Firefighters conducted a size-up of the situation and carried out road cleaning works following an oil spill caused by the accident.

The victim did not require ambulance assistance and was taken to a nearby hospital by family members for further treatment.
