SIBURAN: A driver and his female passenger sustained minor injuries in an early morning crash along Batu 13, Jalan Kuching-Serian, here today (Oct 19).
The accident happened at around 4.35am when their Perodua Bezza skidded and crashed into a lamp post.
The impact left the 28-year-old woman trapped inside the vehicle, while the 30-year-old driver managed to exit on his own.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Siburan station were dispatched to the scene, about 18km away, following a distress call.
Upon arrival, the team worked to safely extricate her before handing her over to paramedics for further treatment.
Both victims were later taken to the hospital for further medical care.
The operation concluded at 5.16am after the situation was deemed safe.
