MIRI: A suspected drug haunt hidden near Simpang Bekenu along the Pan Borneo Highway was busted in an enforcement operation, leading to the arrest of two foreigners yesterday (Apr 20).
Acting on intelligence, the Miri Immigration Enforcement Unit raided the location believed to be a hotspot for methamphetamine abuse allegedly run by foreign nationals.
The operation led to the detention of two Indonesian men, both of whom failed to produce valid travel documents.

A search of the premises also uncovered drug-taking paraphernalia and a sharp weapon, reinforcing suspicions that the location had been actively used for illicit activities.
All the items were seized for further investigation.
The suspects are being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for unlawful entry.
The Sarawak Immigration Department said enforcement operations will be intensified and issued a stern reminder to foreign nationals and employers to abide by Malaysian laws.
