LUBOK ANTU: Two men were arrested during Ops Tapis Khas in Engkelili for their alleged involvement in drug abuse activities recently.
Lubok Antu district police chief DSP Pricha Azin said the suspects were arrested by Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) during a targeted operation in the area.
“The suspects, aged 29 and 36, were caught in Engkelili on Wednesday (Aug 26).
“Both suspects tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine following preliminary urine screening tests.
“One of the suspects has a prior record for drug-related offences. The case is currently being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said in a statement.
Pricha stressed that the district police will remain steadfast in enforcing the law and carrying out comprehensive operations to eradicate drug abuse across Lubok Antu and Engkelili.
