KANOWIT: A lorry driver and his attendant sustained minor injuries when their three-tonne lorry skidded and crashed near Rh Margeret, Jalan Lukut Penyalau on Tuesday (Sept 10).
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Kanowit station were dispatched to the scene, about 8km away, after receiving a distress call at 3.37 pm.
Upon arrival, they confirmed that the lorry had crashed onto the roadside, with the 32-year-old lorry attendant trapped inside the vehicle.
The 25-year-old driver, who sustained minor injuries, managed to exit the vehicle on his own.
The team later conducted the extrication deed to free the attendant, who also sustained minor injuries, using hydraulic rescue tool.
Both victims were later taken to the hospital for further medical treatment.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team ended the operation at 4.27 pm.
