ENGKILILI: The newly operational Engkilili Rest and Recreation (R&R) facility offers a range of amenities designed to enhance the comfort of road users while supporting the growth of the local community’s economy.
Sri Aman Division Resident, Mahra Salleh, conducted a monitoring visit to the R&R area on its first day of operation to observe the level of preparedness and the smooth management of the facility.
According to him, the facility, managed by Public Works Department (PWD) Sports, Social and Recreation Club (Sokanjaya), is expected to provide added value for road users, especially those travelling along the main route through the Engkilili area.
During the visit, he also inspected the various amenities provided, including eight business stalls comprising seven food and beverage stalls and one grocery shop, operating daily from 8 am to 5.30 pm.
In addition, the R&R is equipped with male and female restrooms, a surau (prayer room), rest huts, and parking areas for public transport and private vehicles.
Mahra expressed hope that the Engkilili R&R facility would greatly benefit road users in terms of comfort, safety, and convenience for resting during their journeys.
“The establishment of the R&R is also expected to stimulate local economic growth through business opportunities provided to small entrepreneurs and local traders,” he added.
