Actor Vin Diesel has thanked fans for their patience and unwavering support as production officially gets underway on ‘Fast Forever’, the final instalment of the long-running ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise.

The actor shared the news in a behind-the-scenes video on social media, giving fans a glimpse of the set while expressing his gratitude after years of anticipation.

“I’m on set. People are grinding. Incredible crews are working,” Diesel said.

“I just wanted to take a second to say thank you. You guys are the best audience in the world, the best fans in the world. You’ve been patient with the industry, you’ve been patient with the studio, and you’ve been patient with me. Over the past three and a half years, we’ve been grinding to try to make the most amazing finale.”

He added: “Through it all, one thing I know is, I can feel your support, and that means the world to me. So, let me get back to this filming, and just know that I hope to make you all proud.”

‘Fast Forever’ serves as the direct sequel to 2023’s ‘Fast X’, which ended on a major cliffhanger, and will bring the main Fast & Furious saga to a close after more than 25 years. The franchise began with ‘The Fast and the Furious’ in 2001 and has since grown into one of Hollywood’s highest-grossing film series, earning more than US$7 billion worldwide at the box office.

The film marks Diesel’s return as Dominic Toretto and will once again be directed by Louis Leterrier, who helmed ‘Fast X’. The screenplay is written by Michael Lesslie, with Diesel, Neal H. Moritz, Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum, Samantha Vincent and Dwayne Johnson among the producers.

Following several delays, cameras are now rolling on the long-awaited finale, which is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on March 17, 2028.
