MIRI: A 74-year-old local security guard died following a solo motorcycle accident on Saturday.
The fatal self accident was reported to have happened around 4:00 pm, along Jalan Perumahan Desa Bahagia Vista Perdana, Permyjaya, while the victim was on his routine patrol.
According to Miri District Police Chief, ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah, the guard lost control of his motorcycle, and veered off the road onto the left shoulder.
He sustained serious injuries to the left side of his face.
Despite receiving immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead at Miri Hospital today at around 12:15 pm.
Police are investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
