BINTULU: Firefighters successfully captured an escaped sacrificial cow reported roaming in front of SMK Baru here last night (May 27).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the incident, classified as a special service operation, was received at about 6.45 pm before a team from BBP Bintulu was immediately dispatched to the location.
Upon arrival at about 7 pm, the team found that the cow had indeed escaped and was roaming in the area as reported by the caller.
The operation began at 7.01 pm, with firefighters using a rope snare technique to safely restrain the animal.
The cow was successfully captured and later handed back to its owner.
“The situation was brought under control at 7.42 pm before the operation was fully completed at 7.43 pm. The team then returned to the station at 7.57 pm,” it said.
No injuries were reported during the operation, and no other agencies were involved.
